Paleo Takeout. This may seem like an oxymoron, but I’m really excited to say decidedly it is not. Heather and I have gone almost 7 months without ordering in takeout Chinese or pizza, and this book is our favorite new tool in the toolbox to keep that habit an old one. With recipes ranging from pizza, to chicken nuggets, to miso soup, to gyros, this cookbook has all of the recipes you wish would have been “made paleo” with dozens more you’ve likely never tried. We’ve gotten permission to share one example with you below, and you can even enter to win a copy!
Happy St. Patrick’s Day! Also, if you haven’t been living under a rock, you know that today marks the one month book-iversary of Bill and Hayley’s latest grain-free adventure. You probably know them from either their website, their phone/tablet app, or one of their many other adventures (including most recently chicken raising). In Make it Paleo II, they’ve hit it out of the park with over 175 new recipes that we can’t get enough of. Let me tell you about three of my favorite things about this book.
Tis the season for cookies and hot cocoa with marshmallows and presents galore! It is also the season of resolutions, including many promises to eat and live more healthfully. These resolutions are notoriously hard to keep.
However, having the right resources and having others to help you stay accountable will help you increase your chances of success. I first really paid attention to this after hearing an NPR story back in 2012. Clinical psychologist John Norcross said, “The buddy system works” and “publicly declare your resolution as a family. […] Families can do it all together much more effectively than one alone.” (Check it out here: Making Resolutions That Stick.) This is one of the many reasons Brent and I have been successful in living more healthfully over the past few years; we support each other and surround ourselves with resources and great friends who support us, too.
So, I was thrilled to see that Stacy and Matt of the Paleo Parents pulled together an amazing collection resources to help you, your family, and your friends find renewed health and wellness in 2015 and for many years to come: The Family Resolution Revolution Bundle.
Today is a pretty cool day for us—we’re a part of The Best Paleo Recipes eBook that Bill and Hayley of Primal Palate put together. This book has been in the works for months, and we think you are absolutely going to love it. There are recipes from the big names the Paleo world knows and loves, friends of ours, and even us! Check out the smiling faces of all the contributors below.
There are over 150 recipes in this collection, with 25 never-before-seen recipes as well. We put together my family’s delicious shrimp dip as an exclusive and can’t wait for you to try it. The Best of Paleo Recipes eBook will also introduce you to new bloggers we think you’ll really enjoy; even after 3 years blogging, we found some new blogs we’ll now start regularly reading.
This week only (November 10-17, 2014) the book is on sale f0r $20, from its regular price of $25. We think it’s a tremendous deal and love how this interactive PDF allows you to easily navigate a 300+ page eBook on your computer, smartphone, or tablet. Full disclosure: if you choose to buy the eBook through us, we will receive affiliate compensation. This blog is a fun hobby for us, so if you’d like to support us and the blog (and help us keep this blog low on advertisements), this is among the best ways to do so. Either way, we think this eBook is going to be something you’ll really enjoy. Bill and Hayley have put together more information for you to review should you want to learn more.
Thanks, and enjoy!
TIP: Make sure you read all the way to the bottom because we’re giving away a copy of this hot commodity!
A grill in the backyard, filling the air with sweet and savory smoke foretelling of delicious meats, veggies, and more to eat has been a staple of summer in our families. That being said, at our house, grilling is a year-round cooking option. We love to grill our food, whether it’s hot and sticky or cold and dry outside or anywhere in between. Just thinking about a grill makes me drool.
We couldn’t wait to get a copy of Paleo Grilling by Tony Federico and Chef James Phelan (with a forward by Amy Kubal). Published earlier this summer, this book is the perfect compliment to any bookshelf of healthy cookbooks. Did you get yours? If not, keep reading—we’re going to give you a shot to win a copy!
